In the event that we must delay or close school due to inclement weather, local television channels 4 and 7 will provide detailed information and schedule changes. HCCS follows the Espanola Public Schools delays and cancelations.
We welcome and encourage parental involvement. When you wish to volunteer, please contact our school office for specific dates and time. Please sign in at the school office before proceeding to the classroom. We will issue you a visitor badge and provide any special instructions. Your participation sets a wonderful example for our students. We appreciate your interest and involvement.
According to the Archdiocesan Policy, any adult working with children must attend the Abuse Awareness Training.
HCCS Parents agree to contribute a minimum of 20 volunteer hours. In the rare case that a parent is unable to meet our participation requirements, we collect a $200 fee to help cover classroom and event costs.
Parent/teacher conferences provide an opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and unique needs with his or her teacher. You will receive notification of scheduled conference dates via student notices and our school calendar. You may also contact our school office to schedule an appointment whenever you feel the need. Involved parents make a big difference, and we welcome your interest and participation.
Holy Cross students should not arrive prior to 7:30 a.m. Parents, we ask that you pick up your children promptly at the end of each school day (3:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 1:00 p.m. on 1st and 3rd Fridays). Our Extended Care Program will supervise students who remain on campus after that time.
Cars bringing or picking up students should enter the one-way driveway when entering the school parking lot.
Yes, the Extended Care Program at HCCS provides a nurturing, loving, caring atmosphere with individualized attention. Interested parents should complete an application to reserve a spot. We provide snacks to all students in the Extended Care Program. Parents should pick up their children by 5:30 p.m. We collect a $5 late fee for every 15 minutes past 5:30 p.m.

Absences and tardiness disrupt learning and can slow or even prevent your child's success. We encourage you to schedule doctor, dentist, and other appointments during off-school hours. If an absence is unavoidable, please call our school office as soon as possible.
We believe that our students' appearance is an important part of the learning environment. We encourage our students to follow the following dress code and to avoid any potentially distracting or harmful clothing and accessories.

During the winter months, it is not acceptable to wear long sleeve shirts under a short sleeve uniform shirt; students should wear long sleeve uniform shirts.

Every Monday students may wear their navy blue HCCS t-shirt (long sleeve shirt for colder months) with the appropriate uniform bottom, i.e. pants, shorts, skirt.
The following are not allowed at HCCS
MedicationPlease complete a Medication Release Form in the school office if your child needs to take any medication during the school day. We do not dispense medication, including Tylenol, at school without a written order from a physician or parent. We request that students keep medicine in the school nurse's office, in the original prescription container, with the student's name on it. HCCS students do not carry medication with them when at school.
IllnessWe will notify you if your child becomes ill at school. The best place for an ill child is at home in the care of an adult. If your child is ill or injured, please consult a doctor before sending your child to school.
